Currently living in a constant state of mild anxiety my skin seems to have taken the toll. Sitting on the dryer side of skin types, my pelt is more droog-toast then baby bottom fresh. So because of that I’ve always been more into oils. I thought I’d share a couple of the wellness/ beauty items I’ve been using on my skin for the past two months for a little change from the regular outfit post.
I spotted the brand Lipidol on a couple blogs these past few months and was totally sold not the whole oil oil thing! Popped into Clicks and was pleasantly surprised at how affordable it was. Bought the whole range and decided to give it a go.
Face “wash” – the blue liquid is an oil but once you rub it in it actually begins to become creamy and slightly foamy. I hate when you wash your face and you have the dry stripped feeling, like you’ve scrubbed your skin free of any natural oils. This leaves my face moisturised to the max.
Body “wash” – the green liquid, also gets the creamy texture and is quite nice to shave with. It’s only downside is that the scent has a clinical smell. Not that I’m into overpowering body washes, I just like to feel fresh after a shower.
Night oil – I was(still am) madly in love with Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate and Overnight Repair Serum and Dermalogica overnight repair serum for that late night fixer upper. I am now trying a version from Lipidol. So far it feels good, it doesn’t have the healing qualities that the Kiehls has, but keeps skin super hydrated during the night.
After shower oil – A body moisturiser, feels good. I tend to let it dry before putting pjs on. And would only recommend using it after a night shower/bath so you body can really absorb it while you sleep.
Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream – an easy lightweight moisturiser that I usually use in the morning, under make up. It’s a lovely non-fragranced basic face cream. Nothing more nothing less.
Vichy Face Sunscreen – I use this and the BB cream version as foundation during the sweltering summer. Make up’s bound to run off your face anyway, so with this factor 50 sunblock I’m protecting my face with the added benefit of a light coverage.
Clarins lip balm – this ones beens on regular repeat for a while now. I’m into hydrating lip care, not flavoured balms. Cause my worst is a cracking lip, my other go-to’s are Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour & Keihls Lip Balm in cranberry.
So there’s some random opinionated information on my wellness regime. Maybe I should do one directed at travelling/ vacation products to pack next? Anyhow, I’m in Mauritius for a week taking a break with family friends, so follow me on instagram @thevisualjournal + snapchat visualjournal for updates!
