We have paradise right on our doorstep, did you know? Were you even aware that a flight to the Seychelles was unnecessary if you just needed a tropical break for the weekend. Yip I found a slice of heaven, I’m pretty sure I’m late to the party but none the less excited to have discovered this beautiful spot right around the corner from Cape Town up the West Coast. Nestled between Churchhaven (a sanctuary) and Langebaan (a lively seaside town) is the delicate cove of Kraalbaai.

The lagoon promises crystal clear water and a long wooden jetty which have become it’s two most prominated features. I did a little history digging and came across an interesting fact about the area; in 1995 it was the discovery site for a set of 17 thousand-year-old human footprints. And as I was reading Sapians at the time I found that beyond interesting… I wonder which species they belonged to?

We spent the weekend with friends and arrived at our house boat via rubber duck, having launched off Club Mykonos in Langebaan. We stayed at a private houseboat but you can rent two from SANParks direct. So many of you asked me on social media while I was there so all the details will be linked below!

One sleeps 24 and the other 6, perfect for parties or even a family get away. We had the most relaxing time, and spent about 5 days just tanning playing chess, cooking up a storm and finding our own private little beaches.
