It’s been a tough two weeks tbh, starting your own business comes with serious ups and downs and I feel like the outside pressure ‘of doing well’” can be crippling. Especially in the early parts of building your own thing, social media is a tool used to help you market but can also give you ALL of the anxiety while you watch other people/ brands look like they are killing it in the game. And thats because A) you got to fake it until you make it – by keeping up the facade that all is splendid and B) noone wants to show their sad/bad/a tad average days. Unfortunately thats the reality of this new world, and I constantly have to remind myself not to compare or envy others – because the truth is you never really know whats going on behind the curtain.

As much as Summer gives me positivity and makes rising early easy, these past few weeks of rain reminded me how depended we truly are on water. Yes the drought has created an incredible awareness in Cape Town for the conservation of our water supply, but it has also made me think of our planet. And how the seasons are so vital to the ecosystem. A set up so ingrained in our planet it will continue with or without us, but while we are here inhabiting this world we should at least give it the best fighting chance. Global warming first made serious news 30 years ago today, what have we done so far? And are all the pasts predictions coming true?

It’s coat season and I am so prepared to unpack the layering essentials from the storage. Do you guys pack away summer and winter clothes? I literally don’t have enough closet space to keep both all year round, but the mission is overwhelming and I wish I had an Instagram worthy walk-in cupboard. But the reality is I either do another sale/ throw out/ giveaway or continue to pull out creased crumpled bits of clothing that don’t even have their own hanger to live on.
